needs-care

Zina keeps her distance but returns to the same feeding zone daily. She represents the many street cats who need care but require patience.

Zina is an adult female cat whose wariness tells a story we may never fully know. Unlike Sultan who radiates confidence, Zina moves through the medina with careful deliberation, always maintaining escape routes and safe distances. Despite her cautious nature, Zina shows remarkable consistency. She appears at the feeding zone every evening around sunset, waits until the area is quiet, and then approaches for food. This predictability has allowed us to begin monitoring her health and planning intervention. Her current status of "needs care" reflects visible concerns: she appears underweight, her coat suggests stress, and observers have noted she favors her left front paw. Getting close enough for medical assessment has been the challenge. The plan for Zina requires patience. We are working to establish trust through consistent feeding, gradual desensitization, and eventually safe capture for medical examination and sterilization. Her case demonstrates why skilled, patient care teams are essential for street cat welfare. Zina reminds us that not every cat is ready for human contact, and that is their right. Our job is to provide care on their terms, not ours.

Personality

Extremely cautious and independent. Prefers distance from humans. Shows intelligence in her careful observation patterns. Loyal to her feeding routine. Maintains hierarchy within the crew without confrontation.
